Long Read Analysis Workshop in July: UNSW

Course Description
The twoday Longread Data Analysis Workshop aims to introduce attendees to genome assembly using longread data. As part of this workshop participants will perform a handson comparison between short and longread microbial genome assemblies. This workshop will consist of a mixture of lectures, handson practical sessions, and open discussions.
Target Audience
Longread Data Analysis workshop is designed for bench scientists, PhD students and early career postdoctoral researchers who are working with or are interested in using longread data in their research and have little to no bioinformatics experience. The workshop utilises the Linux commandline,
although no programming experience is required familiarity will be useful.
The workshop fee of $330.00 (plus GST) covers course material computers, lunch and refreshments.
Workshop places are limited due to the significant practical component of this workshop. To manage high demand, all workshop applicants are subject to a selection process and must complete the online application no later than 19th June 2017.
