One postdoc or technician position is available in the laboratory of Jeanne Salje at the Public Health Research Institute (PHRI) at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (Newark, New Jersey, USA). Our lab studies the host-pathogen cell biology of Rickettsial diseases with a particular focus on Orientia tsutsugamushi, the causative agent of scrub typhus. We employ a multidisciplinary approach including microscopy, cell biology, genomics and proteomics/transcriptomics. Experience in host-pathogen cell biology and/or some of these techniques is preferred but not essential.
