A new 3 year CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellowship in Protein Engineering has opened with the CSIRO biocat team and the CSIRO SynBio future Science Platform.
CSIRO Early Research Career (CERC) Postdoctoral Fellowships provide opportunities to scientists and engineers who have completed their doctorate and have less than three years relevant postdoctoral work experience. These fellowships aim to develop the next generation of future leaders of the innovation system. This Postdoctoral Fellowship represents an outstanding opportunity to join CSIRO’s vibrant, diverse Protein Engineering Team located at Black Mountain in Canberra. The overarching aim of the project will be the construction of living sensors that will be deployed in a broad range of applications and will address fundamental questions relating to chemosensing in bacteria. The Postdoctoral Fellow will repurpose bacterial sensor proteins, altering their specificity and allowing them to sense non-natural environmental contaminants. The Postdoctoral Fellow will also develop response systems coupled to the sensory proteins, such as novel genetic circuits.
