Research and Lecturer Positions -The University of Aberdeen

The University of Aberdeen recently launched a major recruitment programme that will involve the appointment of 60 academic staff, 14 of which are in the School of Biological Sciences. The positions within the School of Biological Sciences consist of: 6 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer posts and 8 Academic Fellowships (Research), which will develop into tenured track positions. Several of the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer positions are directly relevant to microbial ecology: Biogeochemistry, Functional genomics, Marine benthic, ecology and plankton Ecology.

The Academic Fellowships are in research areas related to the School’s current research activities and strengths, which include microbial ecology, microbial evolution, plant-microbe interactions, soil physics, terrestrial and marine biogeochemistry and ‘omics approaches. These posts provide a unique and exciting opportunity to develop and build on current research in microbial ecology within the School of Biological Sciences, in other Schools within the University and in local Research Institutes.
